Almost Forgot…

21 Jul
I just published a post a few minutes ago but totally forgot to mention anything about the weekly Taylor’d Home Party or show you what some fabulous ladies have linked up.  My apologies!
Obviously, we’re not having a linky party this week.  {See this post for more information.}  However, I did want to recognize and “publicly” thank these ladies for adding their amazing tips and projects.
First up, we have Sinea of Ducks ‘n a Row with more great ways to organize for birthdays.  In her post, she shares several helpful links that are sure the days leading up to the party is just as enjoyable as the actual celebration.  For that post, click HERE.
Next up is Noelle from Home Preferred, where she shares about her journey to create a warm and welcoming home.  This particular post is all about how she transformed her bland laundry room into something of beauty.  Plus, she was able to create a little craft supply corner within a closet.
To read her post, click HERE.
Last, but certainly not least, is a sweet lady who is quickly become a dear blogging friend of mine: Latoya from The Scott’s Crib.  She is a working mom who also has a heart for creating a home that her family can go to in order to escape the chaos of every day life.  The post she wanted to share with us is one where she shares a quick, easy and {most importantly} inexpensive way to gain some privacy.  To read more, click HERE.
Now that you all have some blog-reading material, I’m going to go watch Faith Like Potatoes with my family.  If you haven’t already seen it, I highly recommend it.  It’s a great family movie with an inspiring Christian message.
Talk to you all soon!

Tweakin’ the Linkin’

13 Jul

The first “Organized Homemaker’s Linky Party” went as good as I could have expected – 6 links.  The second and third parties though, were kind duds – only 1 link a piece.

This past week, Sinea of Ducks n’ a Row was the only person to link up, therefore she is officially my co-host this week.  This means, you must be a follower of Taylor Made Home and Ducks n’ a Row to participate in this week’s linky party.
Here’s what Sinea shared:
Want to make sure you never have to send out a “Belated Birthday” Cards again?  Then, create a Birthday Binder!  Click HERE for the full how-to!
Due to the more recent parties being somewhat unsuccessful, I’ve decided to tweak it a bit.  With that being said, here are the details of the new linky party:
NAME:
TAYLOR’D HOME PARTY
WHAT TO LINK UP:
ANYTHING RELATED TO HOMEMAKING –
ORGANIZING, DECORATING, CLEANING, CRAFTING, COOKING, ETC.
PLEASE NOTE:
You must be a follower of Taylor Made Home &
Ducks n’ a Row to particiate.
Favorite links will be featured at next week’s party and someone will be chosen at random to co-host next week’s party with me. {meaning, it will be a requirement that your blog is followed too!}
Now, LET’S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS PARTY!

Organized Homemaker Linky Party #3

6 Jul
Last week’s link up party did not do nearly as well as the first, so I’m going to be changing things up a bit.  (More on that in a minute.)  First, I would like to recognize the ONE person who linked up something:
Chelsea, from A Simple Life, came through for me again with a great tip on how 20 minutes can make a huge difference in the appearance of your home.  To find out more, click HERE.
Here are the details for this week’s link up:

WHO:
All Homemakers!  However, you MUST be a follower to participate.
**Please Note: Even if you work a full time job outside of the home, you are still a home maker.**

WHAT:
Today’s theme is:

HOME MANAGEMENT BINDER

Have you ever made a Home Management Binder?

If you’ve never made a Home Management Binder, click HERE to see how I did it (along with a list of free printables).  You have a whole week to assemble your binder, so take your time and just be sure to link up before next Tuesday.

Already created a binder and wrote a post about it?

Add it below and then link back to me (pretty please!).
If it’s been a while since you’ve written the post or tweaked your binder, feel free to write an updated post to link up.  (Go to the {Resources} tab if you want to find some new printable pages.)

WHEN:

The linky party will be available all week long.

So, if you don’t have an organizing post ready just yet,
you’ve got time to get one together and link up!

WHY:
The first purpose is to share your organizing successes!
The second, and equally important, reason to link up is to encourage others and be encouraged in your role as a fellow home maker.

PARTY ETIQUETTE:
Spread the news about this linky party by placing a link back to this post somewhere within the post you are sharing.
Also, please don’t “link and run”.  Take a few minutes to click on other links and comment.  Let’s encourage one another!
If everyone does this, the linky party will get more traffic, which ultimately results in more traffic to your blog!

PLEASE NOTE:

Those of you who link up your home management binders this week will be in the running to co-host the party with me next week.  Each week, I will choose a new co-host from the people who link up to the previous week’s party.

The benefit to you is that participants will have to follow you (in the same way that they have to follow me) in order to participate.
Let’s Party!!

Organized Homemaker Linky Party #2

29 Jun
WELCOME TO THIS WEEK’S
ORGANIZED HOMEMAKING LINKY PARTY!!

Before we get this week’s party going, I want to brag on all you lovely ladies who linked up last week.  The idea was to pick my favorites and only highlight those.  However, since there were only four of you who linked up, I’m going to share everyone’s projects this week!!  As more people link up, I won’t be able to do this anymore.  So, I thought I’d take advantage.  Plus, I really do love everyone’s submissions that much!

The first brave soul person to link up their project was “Brave Brooke” (approriately named!) from Wayward Girls Crafts who shared how she labeled some canisters in her kitchen.  Aren’t they cute?  Definitely going to have to add some personality to my own canisters.

To see that post, click HERE.

Oksana is the founder and “Chief Oranizing Maven” (love that!) of a professional organizing company called Order Matters, located in Vancouver, Canada.  On her blog which shares the name of her company, she shared how she put together this perfect little jewelry drawer.  Grab some of your favorite fabric, some long, clear containers, and even a cute tea cup or two and head over to her blog to find out how she put all this fabulousness together!

The next party-attender was Sinea from Ducks in a Row (such a cute name for an organizing blog, don’t you think?), who so kindly shared my linky party with her readers.  THANK YOU!
A firm believer in the FlyLady, she share how even taking five minutes to clean or organize your home is a step in the right direction.  So, for those of you who can only clean in “spurts”, stop by Sinea’s blog to find out how to make the most of your time.

To make the most of your five minutes, click HERE.

Sinea also shared a wonderful post titled “How to Speed Clean a Room“.  Of course, the ideas in this post aren’t meant to be your regular cleaning routine.  However, they will serve you well when your hubby calls at 4 pm to tell you that he has invited so-and-so over for dinner and you look around your house thinking “Oh-my-gosh-there’s-stuff-everywhere-and-I-don’t-even-know-WHAT-to-make-for-dinner”.  You know it’s happened a time or two!

To learn how to speed clean, click HERE.

And last (but certainly not least) is my new blogging buddy Chelsea, from A Simply Life, who shares how she utilizes every square inch of her small pantry.  She writes about ways to simplify your life and live within your means.  So, she embraces stockpiling.  Well, for those of you who stockpile as well, you understand the issue of storing it all.  Chelsea shows you in this post how to find creative solutions for storing your “stock”.

To find out more, click HERE.

THANK YOU to
 Brooke, Oksana, Sinea, and Chelsea
for helping me celebrate my first-ever Organized Homemaker’s Linky Party!

Now, let’s prepare to get our organizing groove on again, this week!

Organized Homemaker’s Linky Party!

22 Jun

Okay, before I get to the linky party, I have to share some exciting news!  A couple of days ago, Marcie from Don’t Waste Your Homemaking approached me (via email) and asked if she could share a couple of my posts with her readers.  Of course, I was super flattered and immediately responded with a resounding “Yes!”  Click the image below to see which one she chose:

Grab a Button
Because I am a believer in spreading the love, please take a few moments to check out her blog.  It really is lovely!  While you’re at it, why not leave a nice comment or two.  Oh yeah, and tell her I sent you!  čÖé  (But be sure to link up your organizing posts before you leave!)

For about a week or so now, I have been hinting about a new linky party that’ll take place right here at Taylor Made Home every Wednesday!  (See this post, this post, and this post.)  Well, ladies, today is the day!

WELCOME TO TAYLOR MADE HOME’S

New Place to Party

20 Jun

As mentioned in this post and this post, Taylor Made Home is now the blogosphere’s newest place to party!

Here are the details:

WHO:
All Home Makers!
Please Note: Even if you work a full time job outside of the home, you are still a home maker.**
WHAT:
Please only link up organizing related posts that pertain to the job of home manager.
Some parties will be a free-for-all (meaning, you can link up anything related to organizing) and others are going to be specific challenges.
No matter what kind of linky party it is, you can link up as many posts as are relevant to the topic at hand.
WHERE:
Right here at Taylor Made Home
WHEN:
Every Wednesday!
(I may get the post up early Tuesday night if I don’t think I’ll be able to post it first thing Wednesday morning.)
The linky party will be available all week long.

WHY:
The first purpose is to share your organizing successes!
The second, and equally important, reason to link up is to encourage others and be encouraged in your role as a fellow home maker.
NOTE:
Linky parties are meant to serve as a way to drive more traffic to your blog.
This means, the more people link up, the higher the chances of more blog visitors (and ideally, followers) for you!
In order to do this, people need to know that this linky party is available.
So, please put a link to this party within each post that you submit.
I don’t mean for this to sound ugly, but I do have the right to remove any linky party submissions that do not include a link within the post.
GET FEATURED:
Each week I will chose my favorite posts and feature them the following week in a separate blog post.
This is another great way to drive more traffic to your site, so be sure to link up!
´╗┐******************************************
´╗┐Now, last week I mentioned a contest that gave you the opportunity to be featured on each and every linky party.  From what I can tell, there were no entries submitted.  If you happened to submit an entry, it did not go through.  I apologize for the incovenience.  Sometimes technology just doesn’t want to cooperate.
Because there were no enteries for me to choose from, I decided to go about things the “old fashioned” way and name it myself.  čÖé  I decided to keep it simple and call it:
´╗┐Organized Homemaking Linky Party
´╗┐Groundbreaking?  Creative?  No.  Not at all.  But it accurately describes the kind of shin-dig that we’ve got going on over here, and I guess that’s kind of the point of naming it, huh?
With all that being said, I just wanted to say:
You are cordially invited to party with me, Taylor Made Home style,
THIS Wednesday (June 22nd).
For the first week, I’m going to go with the free-for-all theme
because I want to see any organizing-related crafts or projects
that you are particularly proud of.
I HOPE YOU’LL JOIN ME!!
